WebMay 23, 2024 · If the engine is overheating, it will log a code, throw a check engine light and derate you. If it is pushing out coolant, then you might be looking a head gasket or more. Exhaust leaks will not really cause overheating. I think you need to look further at what the engine temp is through Insite versus what the dash gauge is reading.
