WebApr 12, 2016 · FWIW Naphtha is kind of a generic label for a class of light petroleum distillates and I believe it can cover a range of compounds. So I am not that sure what is contained in products labeled as naphtha. I have always read naptha is safe for nitro finishes and my experience has supported this. WebI've used lighter fluid in the past (main ingredient naphtha) in order to remove resin buildup from my own collection and to great success. It works far better than anything I've ever used from the standard alcohol bath to 420 solution. I can't imagine anything that would work more quickly or effectively.
